She had the following to say about the actual dream she experienced this night:

“Despite the fact that I had a million things to do, I stayed in bed, thinking about the dream. Not entirely willingly, I eventually got up and did the important necessities, and next decided to put almost everything of which I possibly could on the back burners and sat down at the pc to write – a thing I had not done in so long that I thought about exactly why I was bothering.”

As part of my continuing education, I was given Jordan Adler’s book Beach Money by one of my mentors. The cover photo of Jordan Adler and his laptop on a tropical beach is enough to draw you into the book and I finished it in one sitting. I’d like to summarize for you the key teachings that I took away from the book. Make sure you don’t stop with this review, but rather put Beach Money on your continuing education list and share it with your downline when you finish.

Top 5 Lessons Learned from Beach Money

1.The Road to Success is Filled with Potholes.

From Beach Money: Jordan Adler  failed or quit at 11 network marketing companies before becoming a legend in his current company.

What I took away: Victory was always inside of him. Success requires resolve and dedication. It takes time to aqcuire and master the skills of network marketing. The only way to acquire those skills is to keep going. After all, most entrepreneurs in ‘traditional’ business go out of business the first time. Nine out of 10 start-ups fail. Without a few ‘learning experiences’ behind them, many venture capitalists won’t even fund an entrepreneur. Facing, learning from, and moving past hardship is an essential trait in a leader.

2.Multi-Level Marketing is an Investment.

From Beach Money: If your life is yardstick, the time you spend building your multilevel marketing business is only a few inches.

What I took away: This comment made me thing about a single day in my life. The time I spend reading, listening to CDs, and talking to leaders in my lifetime is very much like the time I spend reading with my kids in any given day. It is a tiny percent of my full day, but it will have a lifelong impact and no one can ever take it away from me (or them). Education is always an investment (not a cost). Don’t fixate on the cost of that conference, the cost of that book or the cost of that training package and start thinking about how rapidly you can apply what you will learn to get the greatest return on your investment.

3.Don’t Just Build a List; Nurture Your List

From Beach Money:  With some basic math, Jordan shows you that each business card in your rolodex is worth $100 – if you cherish it in that way. Your success it determined by two things…the size of your rolodex and the depth of your relationships with people in that rolodex.

What I took away: My husband summarizes this point best. He says, “It’s not about WHAT you know and it’s not about WHO you know. Instead, it’s about WHAT you know ABOUT WHO you know.” So true. Just knowing people is not enough. You have to know ABOUT them – their hobbies, motivation, dreams. If you’ve ever needed to ask for a favor and thought to yourself, “I can’t call that person because…”, start giving to that person, not just taking.

4.Go DO Something…Then Do It Better Next Time

From Beach Money:  Jordan’s tip #9 is “Act and Adjust; Don’t Analyze.”

What I took away: As a former scientist, almost all on my early training taught me to analyze and study before taking action. Remember measure twice, cut once? If you have a similar tendancy, you must become aware of it so that you can activly manage it. Will you succeed the first time at everything you try? No. Perfection is not the goal. The goal is to always get better. Without a first action, there is nothing to improve upon. A classic example is generating Network Marketing Leads . You’ll be awful at first, but will improve quickly if you get started.

5.Be Grateful for the Pessimism from Friends and Family

From Beach Money: Jordan colorfully relates a Thanksgiving dinner that ended suddenly after a shouting match with his Father about his latest multi level marketing company.

What I took away: Family and friends mean well. They are trying to protect you and in the process don’t realize the harm they may do. I’m a parent. If my sons were involved in something I deemed shady, dishonest or a waste of time, I would try to steer them away from it. The more they persisted, the harder I would try to counter. This is human nature. Parents flock and hover to safeguard their young. So, the next time someone in your direct family criticizes your choice to engage in multi-level marketing, look at it through a different lens. See these comments as an expression of love. In return, express your appreciation for their love and concern. Try something simple like, “Thanks Mom, you are always looking out for me.” Then seek at an accomplished MLM coach to teach you the ropes.

Belgian artist Georges Remi (1907–1983), who wrote under the pen name of Hergé, created the immensely popular comic series titled “The Adventures of TinTin”.

The TinTin comic series first appeared in French in 1929. The series was so successful that it was then collected into a series of twenty-four albums, spun into a successful magazine and adapted for film and theatre. This series is one of the most popular European comics of the 20th century. It has been translated into more than 50 languages and more than 200 million copies sold.

The hero of the series is TinTin, a young Belgian reporter, who is aided in his adventures by his faithful dog, Snowy, a fox terrier. The comic series is known for many things:

   1. Its clean, expressive drawings
   2. Excellent, well-researched plots
   3. An adventurous storyline that blends fantasy, mystery, science fiction and more
   4. A simple undercurrent of slapstick humor
   5. Political satire and cultural and political commentary

In each of these wonderful comic books, the young reporter, TinTin, usually travels to far-off lands on audacious adventures, with crazy but lovable characters.   TinTin is accompanied by a crazy, yet lovable crew of characters in his adventures: Snowy, his faithful terrier, Captain Haddock, the ever-swearing, grumpy sea captain, Professor Calculus, the eccentric genius, Thompson and Thomson, the bumbling policemen twins, and a bevy of other memorable villains and odd ball characters. TinTin’s many adventures takes him to far off lands like Tibet and even the Moon.

It is this potent mix of drawings, plot, adventures, characters, humor and satire that have made TinTin a world-wide comic phenomenon. TinTin comics are not well known in the United States, but that is about to change in a big way soon.

The reason?

Steven Spielberg is directing a movie based on TinTin, the first for an American audience. It is called “The Adventures of TinTin: The Secret of the Unicorn”, slated to be released in 2011.

After decades-long journey of spreading fun and adventure around the world, TinTin (mistakenly written as Tin Tin sometimes) is finally set to storm America. With Spielberg’s movie, TinTin is set to win the hearts of children of all ages in the US, as he has done with children the world over.

The Dracula book has been 1 of the bestselling novels of all times, but is it depending on a true story? Did Dracula truly exist?

Most researchers believe that the character was loosely based on the real Romanian Prince Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia, who is commonly recognized as Vlad the Impaler. The name Dracula comes from your Romanian word “Dracul,” which means Dragon and that is linked to the fact that Vlad’s father was vested in the Order of the Dragon. Little is recognized about Vlad’s family or the way his father and his two brothers have died, but it’s established that Vlad ruled the province of Wallachia from 1456 to 1462. The stories of his life are very various from your story told in the Dracula book and they come in many versions too, but one truth is present in all of them – the real Dracula ruled with an iron fist.

Even although he is greatest known in Romania for his resistance against the invading Turks, he was impaling enemies and fellow countrymen by the dozens; stories of his cruelty reveal that very often he would impale innocent soles just to show others what would occur to them if they break the law or do not obey his orders.

The main character of the Dracula publication is truly a totally different man – a Count, who speaks fluent English, but has a secret and dangerous nocturnal life. The story is created as diary entries, letters and newspaper articles and also the main character is presented as a nobleman who only kills out of necessity. The popularity with the Dracula publication soared after the release with the very first movie, based on the novel, within the early 19th century and ever since more than one thousand Dracula films are already released. What created the first Dracula movie so popular, though, wasn’t the storyline of the Dracula book, but rather the truth that the author’s wife tried to ban the movie; because of the copyright issues, surrounding the original book, a sequel, written by the author’s great-grandnephew was written and published in 2009.

This book is about three people named Athos, Porthos and Aramis and a young boy named D’Artagnan and how they teamed up against evil. The bad guys the Cardinal and Milady. For you who don’t know, a Musketeer in an olden day soldier.

I like this book becas it’s super funny. I feel like him because I am surrounded by morons too!! This book has a lot of cartoony pictures, and all of them make me laugh. I can’t wait until I read the next 3 books in the Wimpy Kid series; Rodrick Rules, The Last Straw and the Do It Yourself book.
